I’m not just trained in recovery. I’ve lived it.

I lived with an eating disorder for 40 years. This wasn’t something I read about in a textbook. It was my reality every hour of every day.

For most of that time, I didn’t believe I was sick enough to deserve help. I denied it to myself as much as to everyone else. I thought this was just how life was meant to feel — exhausting, lonely, and full of fear and shame. I didn’t seek treatment because I truly believed recovery wasn’t for people like me.

When I finally did reach out, I was met with endless waiting lists, a fragmented system, and professionals who simply didn’t understand. They hadn’t lived it. Some of the advice I was given caused more harm than healing.

Traditional treatment tends to focus on the symptoms. The food, the weight, the behaviours. But that barely scratches the surface. What I needed, and what I now offer, is something deeper. My own recovery only truly began when I stopped trying to control my body and started learning how to care for it. When I stopped judging myself and began practising radical self-compassion. When I stopped striving to be someone else and began learning how to love who I already was.

That is what changed everything. Today, I am free.

Food is just food. Movement is a choice, not a punishment. My body is no longer something I fight against. It is a place I feel safe in. I love who I am. I know I am good enough. Not because of what I do or how I look, but because I exist. That is the foundation of true recovery.

And now I help others do the same.

I offer one-to-one coaching for those who are ready to stop surviving and start healing. This is not about meal plans or rules. It is not about forcing yourself into recovery through willpower. It is about gently dismantling the beliefs that keep you stuck and building a new way of being from the inside out.
